How we got started...

Back in the early 1970's Richard and Martha Headley, made the move back to NH, after being away for more than twenty years, and took over the family business of owning and operating "Hollywood Beach" on Half Moon Lake, in Alton, NH. Hollywood Beach has been owned by the family since the 1930's. As part of this entrepreneurial endeavor, Richard and Martha became builders and developers. Hollywood Beach underwent a name change and became "Fernhill". Lake and Stream Realty was born in the mid 1970's as a marketing venue for the family's development business, but became much more. In 1975, Richard and Martha, as Lake & Stream Realty, had outgrown their home based business and purchased the current location at 1245 Suncook Valley Road, Ctr. Barnstead. Richard and Martha worked hard over the years to establish a strong, positive relationship between Lake & Stream Realty and the local Alton/Barnstead community. Lake & Stream and its sales staff has provided steady, dependable, quality service consistently for more than 30 years.

Gordon Headley, son of Richard and Martha Headley, is now Owner/Broker of Lake & Stream Realty, LLC. Gordon is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a BS in Business, and a MBA from the University of South Dakota. Gordon joined his dad's real estate business in 1974, while in college, as a sales agent. After Graduation, he spent the next ten years on active duty, at various duty assignments. In 1988, Gordon transitioned to the Air Force Reserves, and the civilian business world. Gordon's Air Force and civilian careers has focused on honing his skills in contract negotiation and implementation. Gordon retired from the Air Force Reserves in 2001, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and returned to the real estate field as a sales agent in the family business, rekindling his interest from many years before. In 2004 - 2005, Gordon became the principle broker for Lake & Stream Realty, bringing with him his many years of business experience in contract negotiation.

Cindy Headley - Owner/Sales Agent. Cindy is a New Hampshire native, growing up in Alton. Cindy is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, with a BA in Communication Arts and a minor in Deaf Studies and American Sign Language. Cindy's background and business experience of more than 14 years is in the direct sales, marketing and customer service fields. Her knowledge of the local area and her established connections within the community give her unique skills and abilities to serve Lake & Stream's customers and clients.

Gordon and Cindy have raised 3 children. Dan, the oldest, is also a University of NH graduate, with a concentration in History and Computer Technology. Dan IS the IT Department of Lake & Stream Realty. Dan's duties include keeping our website updated, in-office hardware supervision and care, and handling the research component of the Lake & Stream's office.

Brian, is a graduate of Gordon College and is pursuing a career as a paramedic/fire fighter. Brian is the adventurer in the family -- spending a semester abroad in Kenya, at Daystar University. Brian collects languages -- studying and speaking Latin, Ancient Greek, Swahili, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

Kristen, is currently pursuing a degree as a Communications/Business major at the University of NH. Kristen is also participating in the family real estate brokerage business and has her New Hampshire Real Estate Salesman License. Kristen brings a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to Lake & Stream Realty.

Dan and Kristen begin the third generation of Headleys committed to serving the customers and clients of Lake & Stream Realty with honesty, integrity and diligence, and the tradition continues...
